You don't start with much of a ship...so be sure to pick up a stronger engine, computer, armor, and some weapons...

...because you're not the only pirate out there.

You'll also need to hire some talented crew members, and then get yourself some jobs.  Once finished...it's time to visit the various stations to turn them in.  And nothing says that if you bump into your rivals you can't take a few shots at them.

Make money.  Become infamous.  Rule the sector.
